Six arrested with heroin, cannabis in Shimla district – The Tribune India

The police have arrested six persons, including an associate of Sandeep Shah, an interstate drug kingpin, with heroin and cannabis in three separate cases.
In the first case, Kushal Verma (28), a resident of Karyali village in Theog subdivision, was arrested by the police.
Verma, aide of Shah, has been held on the basis of financial investigation and digital evidence. Verma also has two prior cases of the NDPS Act registered against him.

In the second case, four persons were arrested with 7.25 grams of chitta (heroin) from Theog.
The accused have been identified as Lalvinder Singh (20), and Preetpal, alias Karan (19), both residents of Fazilka district, Punjab, Virender Singh (40), of Dharech village in Theog and Nitesh Verma, alias Nittu (38), a resident of Deorighat village in Theog.

According to the police, they received a tip-off that some people living at a home stay in Theog were engaged in buying and selling of chitta. Taking prompt action, a police team raided the home stay and found the accused with the contraband along with Rs 38,500.
In third the incident, a native of Nepal was arrested with 1.5 kg of cannabis from Rohru subdivision, Shimla. The accused have been identified as Bhatka Bahadur Shahi.
The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
